Mainak Ghosal was born in 10th Febraury,1972 and passed ICSE from St. Thomas School, Kidder pore, Calcutta in 1988.He then passed Higher Secondary from Scottish Church Collegiate School in 1990 & BSc (Pure Science with Distinction marks & 1st Division) in 1992.He then passed Joint Entrance Examination in 1993 & took admission in the Bachelors in Construction Technology & Management course which he passed in 1998.
Mainak Ghosal is a research scholar and professor of civil engineering who has a keen interest in nanomaterials, molecular photochemistry, and structural engineering. He has a distinguished academic record, having completed his Bachelor of Science from the University of Calcutta, his Master of Business Administration from IGNOU, Master of Structural Engineering from IIEST Shibpur, and currently pursuing his Doctor of Philosophy from IIEST, Shibpur. He has also qualified several competitive exams, such as JEE, OPENMAT, GATE, IBBI with impressive ranks.

Mainak Ghosal has contributed to the advancement of science and technology through his publications in various journals and conferences. He has over sixty (60) Publications in various National/International Journals/Conferences and explored the applications and effects of nanomaterials on cement mortar, concrete, and hydrated nanocrystals. He has also studied the compatibility of superplasticizers with cement properties, the impact of carbon-based nano-enabled cement composites, and the estimation of the mechanical response of nanomaterials in cement concrete. He has also delved into the field of Valuation of both movable & immovable properties for Transaction Support or Secured Lending Decisions in the Indian Banking Sector. He is also involved in Structural Design,Consultancy & Audit of Multi Storied Building.

Having delivered over 25 Invited Lectures, Mainak Ghosal is also actively involved in various professional associations and organizations. At present, he is the Chairman of All India Valuers Association, West Bengal Center. He is the Ex. Honorary Secretary of the Consulting Engineers Association of India (Kolkata Region), the Ex. Governing Council Member of the Indian Association of Structural Engineers, and the Ex. Joint secretary of the Coal Ash Institute of India. He is also a member of other prestigious institutions, such as IEI, IOV, IOVRVF, CEV, AIVA, CEAI, ICI, India Chapter of ACI, IBC, ISC, and IASE. He has more than 25 years of industrial experience in private and public sectors and five years of academic recognition in teaching in engineering colleges. Internationally speaking, he was invited to deliver an online lecture in the Russian Energy Week 2022, in Moscow.
